STUDY PLANS
11. DEGREE OBJECTIVE: Bachelor’s Master’s Doctorate Non-Degree Visiting Student Researcher Other
12. WHAT IS YOUR PROPOSED MAJOR FIELD OF STUDY? BRIEFLY DESCRIBE THE SPECIFIC AREA OF YOUR FIELD IN WHICH YOU PLAN TO SPECIALIZE?
Material resources of the institute I work at allow conducting up-to-date lessons with use of computers, DVD, multimedia projector, etc. Internet access is also provided. I’m spending much time to in line with modern computer-based teaching technologies and prepare for my sessions so that they could meet the requirements of my students. The thing is that computer assisted teaching methods are relatively new and are not adequately elaborated in Russia. Taking part in 2 or 3 days subject conferences and reading articles in Internet are helpful but not enough to methodize practical experience in this field. I would very much like to embody the whole educational cycle on the inside and combine my separate knowledge and practical skills into one. I’m sure FFDP is quite the thing to accomplish these goals and will considerably add to my teaching experience.
I’m furthermore applying for FFDP as I consider this program to be excellent opportunity to learn more about culture, world outlook and cognitive strategies of native English speakers and employ my knowledge in working out effective teaching methods.
| 13. FUTURE PLANS: (Describe the career you plan to pursue after completion of study or research in the U.S. (e.g., teaching, government, business, industry or any plans you might have for continued study or research in your home country). Also indicate if you will be returning to former employment, or if you have been promised a position in your home country after completing your U.S. training).
A Application Page 1 fter completing FFDP I am planning to share my experience with my colleagues through creating consulting center on the basis of curriculum and research department of the institute I work at. The main task of the center I see in training teachers of high school and institutes of higher education to use computer assisted methods of teaching English as a foreign language.
I am also planning to improve computer-based teaching technologies I use with my students which I have more than 200 new individuals every year.
I’m currently engaged in interactive computer-based manual preparation which is going to be published for Business English students and thereupon I believe in careful learning of library stocks for the part of working procedure adopted in the US Higher School.
Besides I’m planning to analyze and join my home and U.S. training experience and conduct a comparative theoretical research, which could be probably arranged into doctoral thesis after I come back from the USA.
